Furthermore, we can update our promotion or make some advertisement for our restaurant or hotel through the website. It can actually help us to save some expenses.
One of the contribution of IT is POS system...Point Of Sale. It is the point at which a customer makes a payment to the merchant in
exchange for goods or services. This system allow the retailer calculate the amount owed by the customer and provide options for the
customer to make payment. The merchant will also normally issue a
receipt for the transaction. So this system can actually make the worker that involved in this industry become more effective and efficient. Furthermore... that is OPERA system. This system can help the staff of front office and housekeeping save a lot of time and stamina. For example, the front office staff can check all the vacancy or occupied room through this system. For housekeeping department, they can know all the room status whether it has been cleaned or not.
In conclusion, IT help a lot in Hospitality and Tourism... so we have to study hard for this IT subject....
